I am a UK citizen who has been resident in overseas for a number of years and recently returned to the UK for a job assignment. On arrival in the UK, I found that things had changed significantly over the years and although being British, I found that trying to set up from scratch was difficult, for example I had no credit rating and I had no knowledge of the local area.
